EGR Tutoring was founded and run by an EGRHS student, Callie deGoa, after she realized through tutoring friends that everyone is capable of academic success, but that some students need extra help in finding the way they learn the best.
WHY ARE WE THE BEST OPTION?
As this business is run by East students, they are familiar with the curriculum being taught to students; therefore, our tutors can more easily understand and relate to the students being tutored. Our vision for this business is to attain EGRHS tutors with a wide variety of talents, be easily accessible, affordable, and trusted by our community to effectively support and challenge students to reach their full academic potential.
This business aspires to be beneficial for its younger students, tutors, parents, and community. For younger students, we want to build their academic ability and encourage their love of learning through a comfortable environment that students want to be a part of. For our tutors, it builds leadership skills and provides a well-paying flexible job opportunity. For parents, we want to form a trusted relationship dedicated to their child’s academic success. Finally, for our community, we desire to elevate the interconnectedness through the high school mentor connection with middle/elementary schoolers.
As a student at EGRHS, Callie understands the immense pressure of achievement especially in EGR. She realized that especially in lste elementary through high school that this pressure can be crushing for students, to a point where they either give up, or pretend they know what they’re doing. EGR Tutoring strives to alleviate this pressure by creating an environment where it is normalized for students to seek additional help, whether that is for a weekly session, an occasional essay/project review, or a group study session before a stressful test. We believe that all students are capable of comprehension, but they will learn in different ways that may not be traditionally taught. We aim to assist these students in finding the best way for themselves to learn.
